are christmas trees going to become a thing of the past? or are we going to use smaller ones like a "charlie ‘green’ tree" (formerly the charlie brown tree lol)? or artificial? Or is the whole concept of decorations so completely against the efficiency preservation that people are going to just stop decorating? Or have financial issues prevented you from decorating as you normally would?

Nope , i never send xmas cards anyway , i see most of the people who are important to me * erm * unless they live in the states!!! dayna!!!
we dont do a xmas tree here at home as were always interstate
and i use bags instead of wrapping paper so we use them again…
and i recycle all beverage bottles/cans and there is and will be a few this yr … lol breastfeeding freeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
I already have all of my decorations from past Christmas’s. I don’t plan on throwing anything out, I’m just going to continue using them.
I didn’t cut down any trees. I hope some did, because they need to be thinned out once in a while. That’s why CA has so many fires. Green wacko laws won’t let anyone thin out the forests.
I’m still gonna stay with the traditional….I have not decorated as usual this year because I’m pregnant and due in 3 days but next year I will decorate and go all out as usual.
A slight bit. I bought a tree this year in a planter so i can take it outside in the spring and plant it.LED lights which save a ton of electricity .
My mom actually bought more this year but everything is artificial…our house looks nice and festive
I think if going green was on someones mind, they wouldn’t support trees being cut down by buying a real tree. Just like vegans don’t support animals being slaughtered by buying or consuming meat.
We won’t quit decorating. Most of our decorations have been in the family for many years and we just add one or two things each year. One thing we WILL do is begin switching our outdoor lights for LED lights. Kind of like the lightbulbs inside, when they go out, we’ll switch for the greener ones. But, we won’t throw out perfectly good strands either — that’s also a waste.
Because of fire(we used to live in a mobile home), I’ve used an artificial tree for many years. We carefully pack it away each time and it looks as good as it did when we bought it over 20 years ago! So I guess reusing it is being "green"!
As far as gifts to other people, we exchange food items with our friends in reusable containers. It didn’t start out as a "green" idea, just an economical one.
I put up LED lights, but only on the inside where we will enjoy them and remember to turn them off.. Last year I strung too many outside on the roof and blew out the wall socket in the garage – very unfortunate because that was the outlet for the water heater too ! Brrrr cold showers ! We use the same artificial tree each year, but buy a few new ornaments each year after Christmas.
In order to save a little money on ink for the yearly Christmas letters that we send to relatives, we get our ink cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones.
